In the summer of 2013, my startup Volroom applied to TechStars NY for help whipping our struggling creative marketplace into shape. Though we didn’t make it, I joined the HackStars program and worked with a lot of smart folks in a really short period of time.
The compaines I spent the most time with were:
Dash measures car data and driving behavior. I built an admin tool to help them to collaborate with auto mechanics, and slapped together a web app prototype.
TriggerMail (now Bluecore) automates email marketing for ecommerce. I helped integrate their platform with a couple of future clients.
Plated delivers raw ingredients to make recipes. I helped them pay down some technical debt on a few pieces of their complex system.
The summer class was quite a plunge into NYC’s startup scene.
