As a long-haul remote contractor at Facebook, I saw an ever-shifting landscape of teams, projects, and management roll by, over the course of a 2.5 year tenure.
I was charged with building tools for the global sales team, who used these tools to visualize large-scale ad performance, and present their findings to CMO types from the top 15-ish clients worldwide.
The project’s success led it to be snatched up by a larger and fancier team, and I moved on to related tools for marketing to small and medium businesses. This involved a lot more automation and number crunching, and fewer pretty visuals.
My secondary, unofficial job was that of amateur cultural anthropologist.
